The 49ers announced today that they have activated Linebacker Fred Warner off of the Reserve/COVID-19 List
Warner was placed on the list on August 31st, but due to the rules the NFL have put in plae regarding player and personnel privacy, it was never made clear if he contracted the virus or was quarantined after coming into contact with someone who did.
Warner being added to the list was a wake up call to the 49ers, “It’s just a good reminder that no one’s out of the woods,” Head Coach Kyle Shanahan said. “When you go a few weeks with nothing happening, you start to feel pretty safe. It’s a reminder this stuff is out there.”
The 49ers cut their roster down the 52 players on Saturday so adding Warner will require no player transactions to occur
Warner being activated is great news as the 49ers ready to play their first game of the season Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
