Earlier today, NFL Network report Ian Rapoport tweeted out that breakout 49ers WR Deebo Samuel suffered a broken foot while practicing this week in Nashville, TN.

The receiver, who amassed 961 yards from scrimmage in his rookie season, was poised for a bigger role this season following the departure of WR Emmanuel Sanders and the 49ers selecting WR Brandon Aiyuk #25 overall in the NFL Draft in April.

Samuel posted to social media that he is expecting a 10-week recovery period, firmly in between Rapoport's reported 12-16 week timetable and the 6-8 recovery timetable that is standard for a Jones Fracture.

A 10-week recovery time would find Samuel ready before Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, giving the team the wiggle room necessary to allow him to return at his own pace.
