It’s crunch time folks, the fantasy playoffs are right around the corner. Are you in, are you fighting for a spot, or are you hoping to play spoiler to someone trying to get a spot? Either way it’s important to have the best lineup you could possibly have and unfortunately that will not include many 49ers this week.
Nick Mullens and the Receivers
I was completely dumbfounded on how poorly the 49ers played against one of the worst defenses in the league. Now they must play the Seahawks in Seattle. I know I usually separate the players in this article, but I am grouping Nick Mullens(he was named the starter) and the wide receivers together. And why is that? Because you SHOULD NOT START any of them. The matchup is worse than it was last week, and they did poorly against the Buccaneers.
Yes, I know Dante Pettis had a good game, but I contribute that to the matchup and the fact Pierre Garçon and Marquise Goodwin were both absent from this game. If any one of them is back this week, I don’t think Pettis is worth the start. I doubt Pettis is on your team and I would not rush out to pick him up. SIT: Nick Mullens and all the Receivers
Because of sheer volume in the running and passing game, you can start Matt Breida. Over the past couple games, he has been getting between 15 to 20 carries and averaging over six yards per touch.
Remember prior to this year when Jordan Howard was effective on a bad Bears team? That’s because of volume;Breida gets the volume and he’s more efficient than Howard was last year or the year before. If he stays healthy, he should stay in your lineup. START: Matt Breida
Same with Breida, volume is the reason I would always start Kittle. Don’t get me wrong, I think Kittle is an amazing player, but if the quarterback isn’t getting the ball out to him, it doesn’t matter how good he is. But he is averaging almost eight targets a game this season and has had double-digit targets the last two games. Keep feeding Kittle the targets and I’ll keep playing him. START: George Kittle
Are you nuts? SIT: 49ers Defense
