Victory in a Land Called Fantasy: Who to Start, Who to Sit Week 11

Week 11 -- can you believe it? The Fantasy playoffs start in three weeks and hopefully you are in a good position to make a push for a playoff run. I know I have said George Kittle is an every-week starter, but I wouldn’t start him this week. In fact, I wouldn’t start any 49er this week, it’s their bye week. In fact, the Bills, Browns, Dolphins, Patriots, Jets, and of course the 49ers are all on a bye this week. So, who are some players that I would play and who are some that I would stay away from?

Stay away from Andy Dalton. In fact, I would stay away from most Bengals if you could. You’re going to start Joe Mixon because you drafted him to be a starter. But last week was supposed to be a great game at home against the Saints, but they looked terrible without A.J. Green and he’s still out of the lineup. Instead I would play Marcus Mariota against the Colts. So far this season the Colts are 17th against the quarterback. Mariota and the Titans put an absolute butt-whooping on the Patriots last week and I think this game will be a high-scoring affair.

Wide Receivers

To go along with my Mariota take I would start Corey Davis. He had a breakout game last week 125 yards, seven receptions and a touchdown. Like I said earlier the game against the Colts should be a high scoring. I know we’ve been fooled by Davis in the past, but Mariota finally looks healthy and the offense has really started to click the last few games. I’m starting Davis, you should also.

Running Backs

I think we can finally start Leonard Fournette. In fact, you could have started him last week but I’m not sure how many people were willing his first game back after he screwed everyone in Week 3. Like I said earlier you’re probably going to start Mixon because you drafted him to start, but I would temper my expectations, especially against the Ravens defense.

Tight Ends

Tight ends have been bad this season so if you had a good one, chances are you held onto him, but what if you don’t have a good tight end? Ricky Seals-Jones would be a good pickup this week. The Cardinals take on the Raiders; remember what Kittle did against the Raiders? And I’m not saying Seals-Jones is Kittle, because he’s not. The Raiders are 26th best against the tight end this season, or sixth worse. Let’s just say they are really bad.

This goes along with starting Seals-Jones, start the Cardinals defense. They have been middle of the road this season for fantasy but play against the Raiders offense who has scored ten points or less in four of their last five games. Plus, the Raiders are eighth in sacks allowed, and eleventh in turnovers. Vegas actually has the Cardinals/Raiders game with the lowest over/under point spread of the week. With the potential of not having a lot of points scored in a defensive game these are the type of matchups juicy for streaming a defense.
