Week 9. It’s insane to think we are already in Week 9. Which means two things: hopefully you’re looking towards the fantasy playoffs and if you’re a 49ers fan it’s all downhill from here to end this nightmare of a season. In any case, the 49ers game is this Thursday which means you do not have much time to make your fantasy football decisions involving your 49ers. It’s okay, that’s why I was hired to help with your lineup decisions.
I honestly expected more from the 49ers against the Cardinals. It was a juicy matchup and the yards they put up in Week 5 were a fantasy buffet. However, that was not really the case, and yes, the Raiders are a pretty good matchup and if you need a quarterback, Beathard could be good start. But he is also dealing with a wrist injury and I would play Beathard only if you’re in desperate situation. START: C.J. Beathard in desperate situations
The Wide Receivers
Nothing has changed for the 49ers’ wide receivers. They only one you can start with any sort of confidence is Marquise Goodwin. The only one you should really be rostering, dynasty leagues obviously a different story, is Goodwin. START: Marquise Goodwin, DO NOT ROSTER: Anyone else
The Running Back
The curious case of Matt Breida. I honestly wish he would have sat out this past Sunday, so he could have healed up for the game against the Raiders. But he played in almost 50% of the snaps and then we are on a short week. Breida is always a gamble play because of the injuries, but the Raiders are a nice matchup and I am going to go out on a limb and say start Breida. Especially with bye weeks upon us you may have to start him, so roll him out, kneel, and say a prayer. Raheem Mostert and Alfred Morris should be started only in deep, deep, leagues. START: Matt Breida, start Raheem Mostert and Alfred Morris in deep leagues only
Come on, you know what I am going to say by now. Roll out Kittle with confidence. Again, I expect more from him on Sunday, but again we expect more from the 49ers as a whole on Sunday. The Raiders have actually done pretty well against the tight end this season, so you may want to temper expectations somewhat. But Kittle is utilized out of necessity due to the lack of offensive weapons for the 49ers. If he’s going to get volume, I want a piece of that volume. START: George Kittle
