Here we are: Week 7 of the fantasy season, and it is already half way over. Hopefully the season has brought you great fortune and many wins. As we enter the second half, we are getting into crunch time where each win or loss is magnified.

C.J. Beathard

C.J. Beathard has been an interesting case. The previous two weeks he has been a top 15 quarterback and is putting up good fantasy numbers. Now this week he is taking on the Rams and they are 6th against the quarterback. I would not start him against the Rams, but bye weeks are upon us and Beathard may be a good start in the future, so keep a close eye on him. SIT: C.J. Beathard, but keep an eye if he’s available in your league

The Running Backs

Matt Breida, the wolverine, did not expect to start against the Packers and yet he had 61 yards and a touchdown. Start Matt Breida; he has proven himself to be a solid RB-2 with RB-1 upside. He has scored a touchdown in the previous two games, you cannot bench Breida. Alfred Morris, if you started him, gave you a big goose egg on Monday, and it appears as maybe the team may be moving on from him. I would not play Morris this Sunday. START: Matt Breida, SIT: Alfred Morris

The Wide Receivers

Marquise Goodwin appears to be finally healthy and if you started him Monday night, you got 126 yards and two touchdowns. Chances are Goodwin was in your waivers but may have been picked up by the time you read this. If he has not, I would pick him up, and I would consider playing him Sunday. Marcus Peters has given up touchdowns this season and I’m not sure if he could keep up with Goodwin.

The 49ers are going to have to throw the ball against the Rams and I think Goodwin benefits from this. If you get any kind of bonus points for long plays and deep passes, you may get that with Goodwin. As for the rest of the receiving corps, I would not play them unless you are in a deeper league. START: Marquise Goodwin, SIT: Everyone else

George Kittle

George Kittle was shut down against the Packers, with only four catches on six targets, for 30 yards. But even Gronk and Travis Kelce get shut down from time to time, and yes, I am putting him in that category with them, because damn it that is where he belongs. A friend of mine listened to a fantasy football podcast last week and he told me they are predicting Kittle to be the number-one drafted tight end by 2020. Kittle is an every-week starter and is on pace for over 100 targets. It’s hard to find a tight end with that type of production and if you have one, you start him without question. START: George Kittle

The Defense

I’m sure this goes without saying, but the Rams are averaging over 30 points a game and the 49ers are giving up almost 30 points a game. They’re tied for 22nd in sacking the quarterback and 31st in takeaways. I honestly would not even roster the defense at this point. SIT: The Defense
