Terence Garvin, the newest member of the San Francisco defense, is a journeyman player out of West Virginia. After entering the league in 2013 with the Pittsburg Steelers as an UDFA, Garvin played in 15 games, starting one. He spent his first three seasons with Pittsburg before moving to the Washington Redskins in 2016 and spent the season playing special teams.
Last year he signed with the Seattle Seahawks where he saw the most action of his career, starting three games at Their SAM lb position and recording 25 tackles, 1 sack, 1 PBU, and 1 FF.
He spent the off-season with the Miami Dolphins before not making their final 53 player roster.
His addition should not signal big changes for the defense, but rather possibly taking over Elijah Lee’s special teams snaps should he need to start at SAM in place for the injured Brock Coyle in Robert Saleh’s defense this Sunday against the Lions.
