49ers sign CB Richard Sherman to 3-year deal.

March 11, 2018

Four time All Pro, former Seahawks CB, Richard Sherman has found a new team in the San Francisco 49ers. He's been penned for 3 years worth $39M, $5M signing bonus.

The CB-needy 49ers seem to have had their sites on Sherman from the moment he was released by the Seahawks on Friday, March 9th. By Friday night, he and his wife were reportedly seen having dinner with Kyle Shanahan in a Los Gatos restaurant. He then spent the majority of Saturday meeting with 49ers brass. He was set to meet with Detroit Lions next week, but 49ers made sure he never got away.

This move doesn’t come without some risks or question marks. At 30, Richard Sherman is coming off a torn Achilles on his right leg and a bone spur on his left leg. Many believe he can return at 100% in 2018, including Pro Football Doc who went as far as saying the setback increases Sherman’s value rather than decrease it

Clearly, 49ers feel comfortable with Sherman’s recovery, as well. However, it remains to be seen what implications the move will have on Free Agency and the Draft.
