The San Francisco 49ers didn't practice on Monday, as they were given the day off on a short week.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan did speak with the media today and revealed some information on the MRI that S Eric Reid received on Monday morning.
Reid will be OUT for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams with a PCL injury. There is no additional damage and surgery will not be required. Per Shanahan, Reid will likely miss extended time with the injury, but there's no timetable yet.
The 49ers' safety was injured in a non-contact play, but remained in the game afterwards. He will be missed in their thin and young secondary. He was starting to thrive in his current role. S Jaquiski Tartt will be asked to step up in his role on Thursday, with Adrian Colbert and Lorenzo Jerome also taking more role potentially.
But it's a major injury to watch for the 49ers, as defensively they've played well through two weeks this season.
