Report: 49ers work out multiple veteran defensive lineman
The San Francisco 49ers are continuing to churn their roster, as they work out veteran defensive lineman.
Per ESPN's Field Yates, the 49ers are working out Ahtyba Rubin, Kendall Langford, Jaye Howard and Tony McDaniel.
Rubin, 31, is a former Seahawk, who spent the first seven years of his career with the Cleveland Browns. He spent the last two in Seattle, where he was a key member of the defensive line. The Seahawks had no more use for him once they traded for Sheldon Richardson.
In his career, Rubin has 413 tackles and 15 sacks. He's played 16 games in the last two seasons, so he can be a reliable body along the defensive line.
Langford, 31, bounced around with three teams, the Dolphins, Rams and Colts. Over his nine-year career, Langford racked up 290 tackles, 22.5 sacks and forced four fumbles. He missed some time last season, only playing seven games.
Howard, 28, is a former Kansas City Chief. He's been in the NFL for five seasons, four with the Chiefs and one with the Seahawks. Last season, he only appeared in eight games for the Chiefs, racking up 23 tackles and one sack.
McDaniel, 32, has bounced around the most among these players. He's spent time with the Jaguars, Dolphins, Seahawks, Buccaneers and Seattle again. He's a 11-year veteran of the NFL and has racked up over 271 tackles in his career and 11.5 sacks.
