The San Francisco 49ers continue to churn the end of their roster, making a few moves on Wednesday morning.
Per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers will be releasing John Theus. The tackle for the 49ers was a fifth-round selection from 2016. He was one of four tackles on the roster, but was inactive on Sunday, as T Garry Gilliam was the backup for Week 1.
With LB Reuben Foster's nagging ankle injury -- which is likely to sideline him for a month -- the 49ers are adding a linebacker to the 53-man roster. They are signing LB Elijah Lee off of the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad.
Lee was drafted in the seventh round out of Kansas State and made the Vikings practice squad. In the absence of Foster in Week 1, LB Ray-Ray Armstrong got most of the reps as the WILL linebacker.
There's also LB Brock Coyle and now Lee on the roster heading into Week 2 against Seattle.
