The 49ers have been busy this Monday making another transaction. The team announced they have signed Wide Receiver Louis Murphy to a one-year deal. They waived/injured linebacker Jimmie Gilbert to make room for the new Wide Receiver.
Murphy was originally drafted by Oakland in 2009 and has bounced around in his 8 years in the NFL with 162 catches for 2322 yards and 10 touchdowns. Making stops in Carolina, New York, and Tampa Bay along the way. He has 28 starts and appeared in 88 games during his career.
He is added to a wide receiver room that lacks a lot of size, and at 6’2 200 pounds, that could put him at an advantage to make the team.
The 49ers have the day off on Tuesday and will be back on the practice field on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m.
