Although it's late into the first night of free agency, the San Francisco 49ers haven't stopped signing free agents. This time, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, it's ex-Falcon WR Aldrick Robinson.
Robinson, 28, will be with his fourth team since he got drafted in 2011 by the Washington Redskins. His connection to Shanahan comes from their days together with the Redskins and last year with the Falcons.
Under Shanahan, Robinson had 20 catches on 32 targets for 323 yards last year with the Falcons. His numbers aren't great, but he didn't get the opportunity he deserved behind Atlanta's deep wide receiving corps.
He'll instantly fit in with the 49ers and their offense and at 2 years for $6 million, figures to be a steal for John Lynch. PFF's Jeff Deeney also added that Robinson has the deep-threat homerun ability.
