According to a report from Chris Biderman of the Niners Wire, Denver QB Trevor Siemian could be traded to the 49ers if the Broncos land Tony Romo.
Siemian took over last year for Peyton Manning, who retired at the end of last year. Siemian in 14 games started had a 59.5 percent completion rate, 3,400 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
He was a former 7th round pick by the Broncos, who Elway believed in enough to start this season. Siemian would also be a cheap bridge option, with 2 years left on his deal for only $1.3 million.
Mike Klis also went on to add that Kyle Shanahan was impressed with Siemian. Shanahan had told the Broncos about his liking for Siemian during his interview there.
