According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the 49ers are a potential destination for QB Tony Romo.
Canfora acknowledges that Romo would most likely want to end up with the Texans, Chiefs or Broncos, but the 49ers and Rams are doing their research on him.
Romo lost his starting QB job to Dak Prescott after returning from injury and is a possibility to be released or traded before the draft. Last season, Romo got hurt in the preseason at Seattle on what looked like a routine hit by DE Cliff Avril.
He's only played in one series all of last season, is getting up there in age and has too many injuries on that body. The 49ers don't have the strongest of offensive lines and I doubt Romo plays a healthy 16 games.
Since the 49ers have a lot of cap space, they'll be linked to all the big-name free agents, but take this one with a grain of salt.because it's highly unlikely Romo ends up with the 49ers in 2017.
