The biggest free-agent wide receiver on the market is Alshon Jeffrey. With free agency starting next week, rumors will be floated around a lot.
According to Benjamin Allbright, a Denver Radio Host, the 49ers will be making a serious run at Jeffrey.
The ex-Chicago Bear played 12 games this past season, catching 52 passes for 821 yards. He's had a couple down years battling nagging injuries, since his career year in 2013.
Jeffrey -- if healthy -- can be a #1 WR and a premium playmaker for the 49ers in Kyle Shanahan's offense. Very similar skillet and size to WR Julio Jones.
He's also been suspended for the last four games of 2016 due to PEDs. If he gets caught again, he would be suspended for 10 games this time, which is a risk the 49ers have to keep in mind.
Take this rumor with a grain of salt, but with all of the cap space that the 49ers have, it makes sense to see why they're going after the big name free agents.
