According to Kirk Cousins and his agent, Mike McCartney, the Washington Redskins' QB will be placed on the Exclusive Franchise Tag.
By placing him on the Exclusive Franchise tag, Washington will owe him nearly $24 million this upcoming season, according to Albert Breer.
With reports coming out earlier from ESPN that Kirk Cousins would prefer to go to the 49ers, this ensures that mostly likely he would not be coming to San Francisco.
With the non-exclusive franchise tag, no other teams can negotiate with Cousins, but Washington can still potentially do a sign-and-trade.
I think this ends all of the Cousins to SF rumors and that Kyle Shanahan will have to look elsewhere for his future quarterback.
