49ers announce 9 hires to the Coaching Staff
The San Francisco 49ers announced 9 more additions to Kyle Shanahan's Coaching Staff. Many of the moves were expected ones that the 49ers Hub had reported on earlier.
Here's the coaches that were added:
Richard Hightower: Special Teams Coordinator
Robert Saleh: Defensive Coordinator
Jeff Hafley: Defensive Backs Coach
Johnny Holland: Linebackers Coach
Marquis Johnson: Strength and Conditioning Coach
Dustin Perry: Strength and Conditioning Assistant
Bobby Slowik: Defensive Quality Control
Jason Tarver: Senior Defensive Assistant
Jeff Zgonina: Defensive Line Coach
Many of these hires were already reported on, but the major surprises included Tarver being retained as Senior Defensive Assistant. He'll be really helpful in implementing Saleh's system. He'll also have experience being a DC and help Saleh game plan.
Johnny Holland comes to the San Francisco 49ers with a lot of experience, He's worked in the NFL for nearly 21 years with various teams. He was also an ex-player with the Green Bay Packers as a Linebacker.
Dustin Perry was the Strength and Conditioning Coach with the University of Minnesota, prior to joining the 49ers.
Marquis Johnson joins the 49ers after spending one year at the University of Tennessee and will be the Strength and Conditioning Assistant.
Slowik, spent four years with the Washington Redskins and will join the 49ers to be their Defensive Quality Control coach. His connection to Shanahan comes from their days together with Washington.
49ers staff continues to get filled out, as we have a few more positions left to go!
