Report: Daniel Bullocks to be hired as Asst. Defensive Backs Coach

February 17, 2017

According to reports from Alex Marvez at Sporting News, Daniel Bullocks will be hired as the Assistant Defensive Backs Coach.

Bullocks was an former NFL Safety with the Detroit Lions from 2006-2009. He was actually drafted in the second round and even started in 21 of the 31 games he played in.

Most recently he held the Assistant Defensive Backs coach position in Jacksonville. His connection to Robert Saleh, the 49ers' new Defensive Coordinator comes from their time together with the Jaguars.

Here's his full Coaching Resume below:

Defensive Backs Coach, Northern Iowa (2012-2014)

Cornerbacks Coach, Eastern Michigan (2015)

Assistant Defensive Backs Coach, Jacksonville Jaguars (2016)

He will be a good asset, working closely with Jeff Hafley, the current DBs coach. He'll also help first time Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh implement his system easier due to their experience together in Jacksonville.

Our very own Kevin Molina had this to say about the hire:

The coaching staff continues to get filled out, with another defensive hire. Offensive Line Coach is one of the major positions that is still left unfilled.
