It seems as if the 49ers will not have an offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapaport, as Kyle Shanahan will handle all of the play-calling duties.

Most of the coaches that are listed are following Shanahan from Atlanta, including McDaniel, Turner and LaFleur. They were all part of the coaching the NFL's #1 ranked offense this past season.

Mike McDaniel's been an offensive assistant for the Atlanta Falcons for the past two seasons and has mostly followed Shanahan from Houston to Washington to Cleveland to Atlanta. As Tom Pelissero noted in an article, McDaniel has been a confidant for Kyle Shanahan and would be a great addition for the 49ers offensive staff.

Although Tom Rathman has endured the changing of Head Coaches for the past few years, it looks like Bobby Turner will be taking over his role in the upcoming season, according to Gil Brandt's report. As per the Falcons' team website, Turner has spent two seasons in Atlanta, helping make Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman into a two-headed monster. He's also spent time with Washington and Denver. His long tenure in the NFL will help Carlos Hyde and the other young running backs on the roster.

Not to be confused with Matt LaFleur who's the new Rams Offensive Coordinator, brother Mike LaFleur is rumored to be joining the 49ers staff as their Wide Receivers Coach. LaFleur was an offensive assistant/intern for the Falcons the past two seasons.

Tight Ends/Assistant Head Coach Jon Embree will be coming from Tampa Bay, according to reports from Alex Marvez. An ex-player with the LA Rams, he has nearly 10 years of NFL coaching experience. He spent the past few years as Tight Ends coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and has coached Tony Gonzalez, Chris Cooley and Jordan Cameron, to name a few.

Coming from Wagner University as their Offensive Coordinator, Rich Scangarello is rumored to become the next Quarterbacks coach according to Tom Pelissero. Prior to being an Offensive Coordinator, he was a Quality Control coach with the Atlanta Falcons.

As per CSNBayArea.com and Matt Maiocco, Tom Rathman will be kept on the coaching staff in some capacity, but most likely not as the running backs coach.

As far as the defensive staff, it was first reported that the 49ers were looking for either Vic Fangio or Gus Bradley as their defensive coordinator. Reports from Jay Glazer also came out that Shanahan might want to talk to Brian Flores from New England, but it seems like the 49ers are now targeting Robert Saleh and Jerome Henderson as co-defensive coordinators. It will be interesting to see in the coming days how their roles are divided and how they will work together, because we don't commonly see co-defensive coordinators.

Robert Saleh's connection to Shanahan comes from the Houston Texans, as he was the Asst. LBs coach while Shanahan was there. He was most recently the Linebackers coach under Gus Bradley and was supposed to follow him to San Diego, but looks to be coming to San Francisco instead, according to Alex Marvez.

Jerome Henderson will follow Shanahan from Atlanta, where he was most recently their Defensive Passing Game Coordinator. Before that, he worked with Dallas as their Secondary coach and has nine years of NFL coaching experience, according to the Falcons' website.

Rumored to be leaving the Giants' Defensive Staff, Jeff Zgonina might be coming to the 49ers to be their Defensive Line Coach. An ex-player for 17 seasons as a Defensive Lineman, he started out his coaching career at Houston as their Asst. D-Line coach and carried the same role to the New York Giants.

Jason Tarver and Jeff Hafley are rumored to held over from the old staff in their same positions, according to Alex Marvez.

For Special Teams Coordinator, it was originally reported that the 49ers would go after Tim Hightower, who served in the same role under Jim Tomsula. But according to Adam Caplan, it looks like they will interview the Atlanta Falcons' Asst. Special Teams Coord. Eric Sutulovich.

The rumors will be swirling for the next week or so, and we will continue to update it as we go, but leave your comments as to what you think of the staff that Kyle Shanahan's putting together so far!
